Patna: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is working hard to ensure its reach in each 'bustee' (hamlet) and 'mandal' (panchayat level branch) across Bihar in the next three years.

RSS regional secretary, Bihar and Jharkhand, Mohan Singh on Tuesday claimed his organisation comprised of 2,670 working 'mandals' in Bihar. "The RSS cadres are trying their best to spread the organisation's ideology in every Bihar village. We organise 1,421 'shakhas' each day at 1,104 locations in the state," he claimed.

"The RSS work is spreading fast, especially in rural areas. Sangh's open works are being held in 90% blocks of the country. We have opened either 'shakha', 'milan' or 'mandli' in all 535 blocks in Bihar," Singh told TOI.

He added that the RSS has chalked out a vigorous plan to reach out to all blocks, mandals and bustees in all states of the country in the next three years. He said a large number of people were also joining the organisation through 'Join RSS' portal. Majority of them were from rural background.

Singh, who is RSS' organisational second man for north Bihar, south Bihar and Jharkhand, said his organisation was running 50,432 'shakhas' (branches), 1,362 'milans' and 9,840 mandalis across the country.

Talking about the recent three-day meeting of the RSS' Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal (ABKM) in Ranchi, Singh said the organisation's top level executive body expressed its 'deep concern' over religious imbalance in population in the north-eastern states, especially Arunachal Pradesh, and urged the Centre to reformulate the National Population Policy keeping in mind availability of resources in the country, future needs and the problem of demographic imbalance.
