In 2016, Assam will face elections. The Congress, which has held power for so long by manipulating tribal and communal differences, is on the backfoot. A resurgent BJP is building on the narrative of the Muslim as an outsider and sharpening politics in those areas that easily lapse into barbaric brutalities.
