LUCKNOW: Expressing his concern over the dwindling number of shakhas in Uttar Pradesh, Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh chief KS Sudarshan advised the members to emulate the Gujarat and Orissa model. The sangh leadership has also conveyed its dissatisfaction over the lack of discipline in the organisations allied with it and emphasised on strengthening them.
At a meeting of allied organisations including the BJP, Hindu Jagaran Manch, Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, Vidyarthi Parishad, Mazdoor Sangh and Kisan Sangh of Avadh prant here on the fourth and penultimate day of the five-day deliberations, the RSS leadership directed that sincere efforts be made to streamline the functioning of allied organisations so that they do not remain confined to papers.
Leaders of these outfits summoned by the RSS were told in clear terms that it was owing to organisational weakness that anti-Hindu forces have started raising their heads, claimed sources. Without naming the Malegaon blast probe by the Maharashtra ATS, the RSS leadership said that organisations averse to Hindu outfits had been targeting the saints in a planned manner to malign their image in the society. This needs to be stopped and for it the need of the hour was an effective and strong organisation, else the majority community might have to pay a heavy price for the same, felt the leaders, added sources.
Sources said that the leaders of the allied organisations were told to reach out to the masses to effectively propagate the ideologies and philosophy of the sangh. On this occasion, leaders of the allied organisations were told to lay stress on improving discipline in their respective organisations as without discipline anything worthwhile was hard to achieve.
On the concluding day of the meet on Tuesday, the all important regional level meeting comprising Avadh, Kanpur, Varanasi and Gorakhpur is scheduled. Senior BJP leaders of the state including the state president are scheduled to participate in it, said sources.
