‘Stop attacks on churches’
Staff Correspondent
DAVANGERE: The Karnataka Komu Souvardha Vedike has demanded that the State Government take steps to stop attacks on churches.
It has also asked the BJP Government not to try the “Hindutva experiment” in Karnataka.
Members of the vedike, after holding a protest rally here on Tuesday, urged the Government to prevent the Sangh Parivar from attacking churches.
Conversion was a constitutional right, they said and added that no person or organisation could prevent an individual from adopting another faith.
They agreed that forcible conversions were illegal and if there were any such acts, action should be taken against violators.
The seizure of churches in Davangere was not right and the Government should initiate disciplinary action against erring officials, the activists demanded.
