RSS' Pedagogical Programme
The RSS/BJP has attempted to effect a radical departure in the existing educational ethos through the use of both state power and the instruments of 'civil society'. This article looks at schooling as part of the RSS agenda to create certain notions of citizenship and identity, first examining the textbook debate and then through
ethnographic fieldwork in RSS schools in Chhattisgarh.
