 PRESS RELEASE

Jamia Teachers’ Association requests the University administration to file Criminal Defamation Suit against anti-Indian and anti-JMI remarks by traitor Suresh Chavhanke, CMD and Chief Editor of Sudarshan News TV

A tweet and a video message have been posted on August 25, 2020 through a twitter handle “@SureshChavhanke” by Suresh Chavhanke who is CMD & Editor-in-Chief of Sudarshan News TV. The tweet and language in the video is antinational accusing the selection process by UPSC in highly objectionable words. It also targets recruitment of Muslims in the Indian Administrative Services and labels them with the word “Jihadi” and dares how any Muslim can become an Indian administrative officer. Dragging Jamia’s Residential Coaching Academy into bad light, Suresh Chavhanke called Indian officers selected from Jamia as “Jamia ke Jihadi”. A number of derogatory words have been used by the said CMD of Sudarshan News which openly instigates, spewing venom against fellow citizens, and trying to divide people of India. He tried his best to divide the Indian society on the religious line. The tweet has been tagged the twitter handle of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS handles. The PM has taken no action yet in this direction. JTA condemns the said tweet and promotional video in the strongest possible words. JTA requests JMI administration to process the matter for FIR under various sections of IPC and UAPA, and initiate proceedings for criminal defamation cases. It is worth mentioning that Jamia Millia Islamia stood as number one Central University of the nation in an assessment by the MHRD and media persons/their masters are using a cruel approach against 100 year old University and the Indians who serve the nation through administrative services. JTA thanks all who stand in solidarity with fellow Indians and believe in the constitution of India.
