Announcement: Insaaf Yatra from Delhi to Muzaffarnagar - 31st March 2018

Dear Friends

(I) The following individuals will participate in a-day long Insaaf Yatra on 31st March 2018:

Vimal Bhai, social activist, NAPM
AC Michael, social activist, United Christian Forum
Meha Khanduri, human rights activist
Pratap Singh Negi, social activist, ANHAD
Md. Faizan Alam, social activist, ANHAD
Ovais Sultan Khan, human rights activist, ANHAD
Representatives from Chalchitar, Naujawan Bharat Sabha, Bhim Army and other groups

(II) The purpose of the visit is to express the solidarity with the family of Khatauli’s 2 minor girls, who were being framed as adults and sent to jail in an alleged cow slaughtering case of December 2017. On 27st March, they got the bail from UP High Court.

And another purpose, to build pressure on the administration of Muzaffarngar and Shamli for not endorsing the Yogi Govt.’s initiative related with withdrawal of 131 heinous crime cases of Muzaffarnagar communal violence 2013.

(III) The schedule of the Insaaf Yatra:

7:30 am: Insaaf Yatra will leave from Anhad Office (C-5, Nizamuddin West, [ New Delhi])
10:30 am: Insaaf Yatra reach Khatauli to meet victims, families and local opinion leaders, related with alleged Khatauli’s cow slaughtering case
12:30 pm: Insaaf Yatra will reach Muzaffarnagar Kachehri to participate in a Demonstration-and-Public Meeting organized by UP NAPM to oppose the withdrawal of 131 criminal cases related with Muzaffarnagar communal violence of 2013
2:00 pm: Press Conference in Muzaffarnagar (after this, delegates will meet District Magistrate)
5:30 pm: Insaaf Yatra will reach Kandhla to meet the activists who are working with the survivors of 2013 communal violence and local opinion leaders
