India: Bajrang Dal wanted an Ayodhya in the south | Gauri Lankesh

In 2003, Hindu groups laid siege to a dargah in Karnataka, calling it the Ayodhya of South. Here is what Gauri Lankesh wrote about it on 3 December 2003 in Lankesh Patrike.

Excerpted from a recent book titled ‘The Way I See It: A Gauri Lankesh Reader’ (Navayana and DC Books).

Such amazing things happened over the two weeks when we organized communal harmony meetings at Chikmagalur and Bababudangiri, and called upon people to stop Karnataka from becoming another Gujarat and Bababudangiri from being turned into Ayodhya by the saffron brigade… I am confused about where to even begin!
