Prof. Akeel Bilgrami Prof. Akeel Bilgrami got
a first degree in English Literature from University of Bombay;
thereafter he joined Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar for a
Bachelor's degree in Philosophy,Politics, and Economics, and a Ph.D.
from the University of Chicago. He has been teaching for the last three
decades in Columbia University, and is Morgenbesser Professor of
Philosophy. Prof. Bilgrami has authored several books including Beyond
the Secular West; Who’s Afraid of Academic Freedom?; Secularism,
Identity, and Enchantment; Marx, Gandhi, and Modernity; Self-Knowledge
and Resentment; and Belief and Meaning. His major areas of concern are
located in philosophy and in related theoretical issues of politics and
culture. He is presently working on a book on the relations between
value, agency, and practical reason. Prof . Talat Ahmad Prof. Ahmad
achieved his M.Sc.
in Geology from Aligarh Muslim University and went on to complete his
Ph.D. programme from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 1985. In 2011, he
was appointed as Vice-Chancellor of University of Kashmir. Currently, he
is the Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia.
