Announcement: Dialogue between members of African countries living in Delhi and Indian citizens (10 June, 2016, Delhi)

Dear Friends,

Greetings!

Recently, there has been a spurt in violence and racial abuse and attack
on members of African communities who are living in various parts of
India. A charged atmosphere of hatred towards people of African origin
is being displayed in every sphere of our lives. Unlike the past where
African students and citizens easily mingled and lived in relative
communal harmony and peace, the current situation has suddenly
transformed into a an atmosphere of racial hatred, public abuse,
violence and even physical attacks on members of African countries and
in many cases it is observed that people have taken law in their own hands.

In order to bring some change in this scenario of violence and racial
hatred and build a friendly environment among local people as well as
members of African communities living in India, we are trying to develop
a series of intercultural dialogues for brotherhood through cultural
exchange and dialogues and create a peaceful environment where peoples
from other countries, irrespective of their caste, creed, culture and
skin color can live here in peace and harmony and foster good will.

As a first step towards this , we would like to invite you to join us
for an intercultural dialogue between members of African countries
living in Delhi and Indian citizens.

Date: 10 June, 2016
