Curfew clamped in Neemuch following violence

Neemuch (MP), Apr 3 (PTI) Curfew was today imposed in Jawad town of Neemuch district following incidents of arson and stone-pelting involving members of two communities, in which 15 persons were injured.

"Indefinite curfew has been imposed in Jawad and neighbouring Khor village," the district superintendent of police Rudolf Alvares told PTI.

About a dozen shops and over 15 vehicles were set on fire during the violence which started during a religious procession, sub-divisional officer of police Dr Indrajeet Bakarwal said.

As many as 15 persons were injured in stone-pelting, forcing the administration to impose curfew at around 3 pm to control the situation.
