His Lordship Honb’le Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar, Judge, High Court of J&K on 04.03.2015, in a landmark order passed in Contempt Petition filed by the petitioners Sanjay Tickoo & ors to implement the Judgment passed by His Lordship on 09.10.2013 have allowed the petitioners, to file record about the encroachments, sales / purchases of temple endowment properties, embezzlements done at different levels by the un-scrupulous elements and get the same inquired by the concerned officers / officials for the restoration of the same.

The protection, preservation and re-construction of Temples and other religious and social places of Kashmiri Pandits is the primary priority of KPSS after the survival of the left outs in Kashmir Valley. Since last more than a decade the group have knocked all the doors for fulfilment of this fundamental right and till date the bureaucratic and executive set-up have failed us at all the levels for the reasons best known to them.

As such, the matter was agitated before the Hon’ble Supreme Court and later before Hon’ble High Court of Jammu and Kashmir at Srinagar Bench in the representative capacity by the petitioners i.e. Sanjay Tickoo, Rattan Chaku and Vijay Sas and was registered as OWP No. 610/2007 bearing title Sanjay K. Tickoo Vs. State of JK and others.

Finally the matter got listed before Hon’ble Single Bench of His Lordship Hon’ble Mr. Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar, Judge High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, where in His Lordship was pleased to passed a land mark judgment on 09.10.2013 wherein the Government machinery was directed to preserve and protect the temples of the petitioners in the Valley.

After that petitioners chose to file a Contempt Petition before the Hon’ble High Court against the contemptnors as they failed to implement the Hon’ble High Court order at ground zero and the same stands registered as Contempt Petition No. 572/2014.

As such, we request all the registered and recognized Samities / Temple Managements to provide data about the same (i.e. encroachments, sales / purchases of temple endowment properties, embezzlements) so that the matter could be submitted before the Hon’ble High Court at Srinagar for restoration of the same in the larger interest of the justice and Kashmiri Pandit Community.
