Feminists Rally on Women's Day 2015 in Delhi Provides a Platform to a representative of SDPI - The political arm of the Popular Front of India

The 8th of March 2015 rally organised by a pretty wide coalition of feminist groups consisting of the autonomous women's groups and also of the Left women's groups at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi gave its platform to speak from to a representative to the 'Muslim Far Right' Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) which is the political arm of the Popular Front of India. The jointly signed leaflet released on the occasion of the event had names of a large number of groups listed in its leaflet but the SDPI did not figure there. But in full public view a rep of the SDPI was invited to the stage to speak, the speaker from SDPI gave a short speech of two three minutes speaking for the rights of women. No one batted an eyelid, no one seem bothered or concerned that something wrong had happened, it was plain and simple normalisation and social legitimation of the SDPI from a Feminist platform. They the SDPI ... are like any other feminist group, and can be counted upon among many in Delhi that is the message it sent.

But the big question that be needs to be raised here is are the some of our feminist friends politically naive or are they doing this consciously or are they being led into this by some. Some should in a matter of fact way now ask the feminists of Delhi if SDPI can be invited to their women's day stage why not the Durga Vahini or such?
