Mohit M. Rao
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) celebrated their golden jubilee with a blood donation camp here on Sunday. Organised at Sharada Vidyalaya, the VHP intends to collect over 1 lakh units of blood from across the country, to commemorate the 24th anniversary of firing on Karasevaks who had gathered around Babri Masjid at Ayodhya.
D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshetra Dharmastala, inaugurated the drive. He said the donation of blood was for the needy without discrimination of religion, caste, class.
Calling VHP the voice of Hindus, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel condemned the State government for what he said attempting to crackdown on activists of the organisation.
Referring to the arrest of Manoj Thokur, a member of the Hindu Jagrana Vedike, under the Goonda Act, Mr. Nalin said, “There is politics of hate here. Hindu activists who are working to save our culture are being arrested. If this continues we will initiate protests.”
