India - Gujarat 2002 riots: Court acquits all 44 accused in Gomtipur case

A sessions court on Tuesday acquitted all 44 persons, including a former BJP MLA, in one of the post-Godhra riots cases in 2002 in Gomtipur area in Ahmedabad. This was one of the few cases which were not probed by the Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation (SIT). The accused belonged to both the communities – Hindu and Muslim. - See more at:
