Looking Back, Looking Forward
On Sunday 6th April 2014, 5-8 pm
Amphitheatre, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi
Elections 2014 for the 16th
Lok Sabha is creating incessant talk of a mood for change, promising to
make this the most contentious electoral battle in recent memory. In
the hype and din, many basic concerns of economics, politics and human
rights are being glossed over, and in many cases, wiped out.
Join us this Sunday
with family, friends and coworkers to explore these questions with
academics, theatre and music artists, filmmakers and activists:
· Is there a smoke screen being created around the development of one state over all the others in the country?
· Does our past hold out lessons for the future?
· Is who we vote for more important than whatwe are voting for?
· Equally importantly, what do we want to vote against?
Speakers and performers include:
Nivedita Menon, Manoj Mitta, Beena Pallical, Kingshuk Nag, Maya Krishna
Rao, C.P. Chandrashekhar, Achin Vanaik, Atul Sood, Teesta Setalvad,
Majma, Aditya Nigam, and Rakesh Sharma.
We will be live streaming this event and for those who are interested, stay tuned in to our facebook page:
