Human chain against moral policing
9 Feb 2009, 0151 hrs IST, TNN

BANGALORE: ‘Hum Honge Kaamyaab’ is the song protesters will sing to defy the ‘ongoing Talibanization of Karnataka by the Hindutva brigade’.
IIM-B professor Rajeev Gowda will spearhead a peaceful movement to show citizens are united against moral policing and attacks on women.

Simultaneous protests against moral policing will be held at 20-25 hubs where people work or study (like Electronic City and ITPB) on Thursday. "It is being organized to enable people, especially students and working professionals, to express their seething anger and disgust. Through Gandhian means, we will demonstrate our condemnation of attacks on women and attempts to impose curbs on freedom of speech and expression in the name of culture," Gowda said. People will be called out of offices to join hands and form a human chain.

The organizers have welcomed street theatre groups, and citizens who are willing to participate, upload pictures/videos and post write-ups on the website www.bengaluru-unites.blogspot.com.
