INVITATION

27 September, 2008

Dear Co-workers,

Prompted by the continuing and increasing onslaught on Christians and churches in recent weeks particularly in Orissa, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand, some of us belonging to Satyashodhak Samaj, All India Rajiv Krantikari Sanghathan, Delhi Vikas Morcha, Samajwadi Vichar Manch, PIL Watch Group, Dalit Jagran Manch, Progressive National Labour Union, Rashtriya Sikh Panchayat, Mahrishi Valmiki Atam Jagran Manch and Savitribai Phule Mahila Sangathan came together under the banner of Campaign Against Atrocities on Minorities. This is a small umbrella organization which is open to like-minded groups and individuals.

As a first step we had taken a public stand on the anti-Christian violence by issuing a media statement condemning the violence and asking for a ban on Bajrang Dal, VHP, RSS, Durga Vahini etc.

We invite you to a dharna in protest against the anti-Christian violence. A memorandum will be handed over to the President of India. An effigy of the Sangh Parivar will also be burnt.

Date: Monday the 29 September, 2008
Time: 11a.m. to 2p.m. sharp
Venue: Jantar Mantar, Connaught Place [New Delhi]
Effigy Burning: 1.30 p.m

Please join us in solidarity.
