Why Impunity for these men of religion?

[In Bombay recently, these was a running match between supporters and opponents of the Dera Sucha sect. Sikhs swearing by religion brandished swords, terrorising ordinary people, stopping trains and social disruption. Today hell's broken loose in Gujarat concerning the Televangalist Asha Ram Bapu (who like the Dera Soocha guru, or Sri Sri Ravi Shanker, or other such operators also runs million dollar operation). Asha Ram bapu has been in the past been accused of corruption, forgery etc. (for more information see) Asha Ram Bapu's son a certain Narayan sai had provoked the ire of many sadhus and hindu belivers when started using the prefix 'bhagvan' (God) with his name. Here is a short CNN IBN newsreport on the Narayan Sai controversy) These characters are public nuisance and seem to enjoy impunity and protection. The state must not pander to any such businessmen of religion and take them and their supporters to task for inciting violence. See some media reports below on this latest trouble around Aasha Ram Bapu and his men. -hk]
