Hi Friends,
The National Student Festival for Peace and Communal Harmony comes to an end tomorrow. Those who have been with us would already know that the first day itself saw attacks from the right wing. Prof. Shivji, who had been invited to inaugurate the exhibition was threatened with death and manhandled in broad daylight. Such are the times that art is not even allowed space to be displayed if it doesn't fit with the Sangh's ideology. We hope that tomorrow all off you, the ones who have already been with us and those who have not found the time yet, would join us, not only for the closing, but to show the right wing that artists and intellectuals stand side by side opposing them.
We are launching a signature campaign to demand the arrest of the attackers. Though photographs of each one of them have already been produced with the FIRs no steps have been taken yet by the Gujarat police to arrest the goons. Please join us even if only for 10mins to put your signatures down in protest.
We sincerely hope to see you all there.
