India: BJP income skyrockets compared to other political parties giving it a big advantage

BJP income jumps 81% in 2016-17 to Rs1,034 croreThe total income of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2016-17 was nearly twice that of all the other national parties put together. Between 2015-16 and 2016-17, the BJP registered an increase in income of nearly 81% to Rs1,034 crore. By comparison, the income of the Congress in 2016-17 declined 14%. With Rs225 crore, its income in 2016-17 was about one-fourth that of the BJP. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) registered a spike in income, from Rs47.4 crore to Rs173.6 crore.
