Protest over Delhi church attacks, police detains protestors

NEW DELHI: Barely two days before polls, the national capital is witnessing a massive protest over repeated attacks on various churches.

Hundreds of the people from the Christian community and their supporters organised a peaceful march from Sacred Heart Cathedral in Central Delhi to home minister Rajnath Singh's house on Thursday morning.

Protesters were seen chanting "We want justice" outside the Cathedral, when Delhi Police tried to move them inside the church premises.

Police cracked down on the protestors when they tried to move towards home minister's residence and detained many of them. "Have detained some protesters, legal process will be followed," Mukesh Meena, joint commissioner of police said.
