Activists of BJP and seven other Hindu organisations thronged the City Police Commissioner office on Monday demanding that action be taken against members of a minority community allegedly involved in the attack on two of its members.

The other activists who came to the police commissioner office were from Hindu Munnani, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Akhil Bharath Hanuman Sena, Indu Makkal Katchi (Tamilagam), Vivekananda Peravai, Shiv Sena and Bharat Sena.

On December 29, 2011, two persons on a motorcycle reportedly hit a car while trying to overtake it.

A wordy duel ensued at Aatuppalam. The two persons were assaulted by nearly 200 members of a minority community.

The agitators in a memorandum pointed out that a case was promptly registered against the two who were beaten up and were remanded in custody.

But no case has been registered against the assaulters.

They demanded that they too be arrested.
