World Hindugenous Day - A Cartoon by Poorva Goel Holycowmics

As the Sangh Parivar, aided by a shamelessly one-sided govt that is ignoring its responsibility towards all faiths in India, rams its notion of nationalism down our throats; and as the same govt that is destroying countless places of worship (including Hindu temples and adivasi sacred landscapes and shrines) in the name of development (coal mining in some of India's richest forests, with vulnerable adivasi communities for whom the forests are sacred; drowning out Shiva and other temples in Narmada, and much more); and on the occasion of International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples; I recall an article I wrote on the schizophrenic view of two sacred sites by the Supreme Court in 2008 (Ram Sethu in Palk Strait; and Niyamgiri hills in Odisha): https://www.academia.edu/43813009/A_Blinkered_View_Supreme_Courts_schizophrenia_with_two_sacred_sites_. It is the same with today's govt. To mark the day, Poorva Goel Holycowmics and I issue another in our cartoon series PoliTicks.
