With the BJP having been in power for the last 13 years, the Bajrang Dal has declared Madhya Pradesh a Hindu Rashtra

It's not quite Dadri, but the principle is the same. Angered by a Muslim slaughtering a bovine in his house, Bajrang Dal members in Madhya Pradesh's TonkKhurd last week ordered the closure of all meat shops in town. They spared the offender's life because he was an office-bearer of their own party. The administration obligingly arrested the alleged offender Anwar Mev and nine of his family members under the National Security Act; they are in jail. The tehsildar ordered meat sellers to shut shop, saying their presence near schools and temples was offending residents. The shops are to be relocated to the edge of town. These meat shops had been there for decades. All this time, was no offence taken? Or is offence registered only when voiced by certain sections? Can meat-eating residents of TonkKhurd dare oppose the tehsildar's action, given the clout of the Bajrang Dal?
